In connection to the talk by Chris Smith: How to write proposals you
are requested to write an observing proposal. Please hand in your
proposal on Thursday Feb. 21. The idea is
that you read each others proposals and grade them. We'll discuss the
proposals in a Time Allocation Meeting (TAC)
to be held on Wednesday Feb. 27 at 13:00,
while eating pizza's!
In addition to the talks and classes, we will meet every
Friday afternoon
at 16:30 to discuss your accomplishments and
problems, to share your science, ask questions etc. The idea is to
keep these meetings informal and to stimulate discussions.
* i.e. Friday Feb. 1, 8 & 15 and March 1, 8, 15 & 23.
Other meetings to which you are encouraged to go to are:
You don't have to register neither for the conference nor for the
workshop before arriving at CTIO. Because you are CTIO Summer
students, we will take care of registration once you are here.
On Friday March 22 we will go up to Cerro Pachon for a tour of Gemini South and the SOAR telescope. If there is interest and if there is time left (you do have a very busy schedule) we might also arrange a visit to La Silla and/or Las Campanas Observatory during your stay here.
