"Astronomical Instrumentation Activities at PUC"
 

The Center for Astro-Engineering (AIUC) was recently formed at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, to group our activities in teaching, research and services for astronomical instrumentation and related technologies. Within AIUC, we have a Group for Adaptive Optics (GrAO), which aims to teach and do research in this field. Our main research objective is Wide-Field AO, for which we have optical set-ups for Single Conjugate and Multi-Object AO, with ongoing plans to extend it to Multi-Conjugated AO next year. A second MOAO bench will be added in the future.

This seminar will briefly describe our activities, followed by in-depth treatment of some areas in Adaptive Optics (AO) we think are of interest for the Gemini community. Possible areas of collaboration with observatories doing AO will also be addressed.
