"SOAR-OSIRIS NIR Survey of High-mass Stars in the Periphery of Galactic Massive Stellar Clusters: Westerlund 2 and NGC3603"

In this talk I will present the first results of an ongoing observational survey performed with OSIRIS at the SOAR Telescope. It is aimed to verify the existence of a massive stellar component in the periphery of Westerlund 2 and NGC3603, two of the most massive young stellar clusters in the Galaxy.
The observations were made in the semester 2011A, and the first results seems to confirm the existence of massive stellar halos there.
In case of Westerlund 2, we successfully detected two O2If/WN6ha as well as several early- to mid-O stars, together with some Be and luminous blue variable (LBV) candidates. On the other hand, the first results taken from a more limited NIR spectroscopic campaign towards the periphery of NGC3603, may indicate the presence of a massive stellar halo compound mainly by early- to mid-B supergiants.
