"CCD Photometry of Variable Stars"

HE 0230-4323 is a close binary star with a pulsating primary component. The first part of the talk will describe the brightness variations observed in this system.

The second part will be devoted to the challenges associated with photometry of ultracool (spectral types M8-T) dwarfs.  In particular, many of these objects are "visual" binaries, with sub-arcsecond separations. This has particular implications for performing accurate photometry.
