I will discuss how our mid-infrared observations of the dust in comets using Gemini have aided in constraining comet grain properties, and thereby place constraints on models of the early solar nebula. Specifically, I will talk about the Gemini observations of comets 9P/Tempel 1 during the Deep Impact rendezvous, and 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3 during its natural break up at its previous apparition. |
