"DIRTY Work: Modeling the
Dust Formation and Evolution in Classical Novae" |
|
Dust is ever-present, from quasars at the end of cosmic re-ionization to the current day Milky Way, however its formation is still not well understood. While not the main source of ISM dust, classical novae present a convenient place to observe the evolution of dust, from formation to dispersal, on human time scales. This project involves the application of the advanced radiative transfer dust modeling code DIRTY to OIR data of Nova Cen 1991 to tackle the problems of filling factor and accurate dust mass determination. |
