The Spitzer Extragalactic Representative Volume Survey (SERVS) is mapping 18 square degrees of the sky in the IRAC channels 1 and 2 (3.6 and 4.5 micron, respectively) of warm Spitzer. The observations are carried out in 5 well-known fields for which ancillary data in the optical and near-IR is available from other surveys. SERVS will take a complete census of the population of massive galaxies in the redshift range ~1-6 within a volume of ~0.8 cubic Gpc. In this talk I will provide an introduction to the method of spectral energy distribution fitting which naturally exploits the multi-wavelength coverage of the SERVS fields. We use this common technique to derive photometric redshifts. The reliability of the derived photometric redshifts is verified utilizing spectroscopic redshifts where available. Selected results will be presented. |
