"A Technical Tour Through the Gemini Planet Imager (GPI)"
 
We will present a technical description of the GPI instrument, showing the fundamental sub-systems. This will be followed by a more in-depth description of these sub-systems and how they work together. We willdiscuss some of the engineering trades we have made, especially where these impact the operations and/or maintenance of the instrument. We will conclude with some photographs of the sub-systems as they currently exist during the build phase.
