to K Bands, and a Comparison to LMC PL Relations" |

I shall present a new calibration of Cepheid PL relations from B to K photometric bands, based on 5 distance indicators of Galactic Cepheids: trigonometric parallaxes from HST and revised Hipparcos; infrared surface brightness; interferometric Baade-Wesselink and ZAMS distances to open clusters. I shall compare this new calibration to the well-established PL relations in the Large Magellanic Cloud to see if a universal PL relation exists or if it depends on galaxy properties such as metallicity. |
