LP is a product of man-made light escape and local
conditions such as particulates in the atmosphere.
Particulates depend on local weather and other
conditions. Monitoring has to take into account
situations which may impact on the level of LP but
which are not light-loss related. ( NB: Global warming
is likely to lead to a higher atmospheric burden of
water vapour which in turn may affect atmospheric
particulates)
