The NOAO DEEP Survey Team reports the discovery of six possible supernovae on CCD images taken at the KPNO 4m Mayall telescope by B. Jannuzi, A. Dey, T. Lauer, E. Ajhar, F. Valdes and A. Walker. The supernovae were identified by B. Schmidt, L. Wells, M. Keane, and R. Schommer by comparing images taken Oct 23-25 with those obtained on Sep 22 & 24. The candidates were each present on five separate CCD frames. The limiting magnitude of the September combined images used for comparison is R(Cousins)=27.5 (one sigma per square arcsecond). The following are given for each supernova: the date of their discovery image, position, approximate R magnitude at discovery, and a comment.

The supernovae are within 1.5" of their host galaxies, except 1997x6SN, which is 7 to 8" from the nearest detected galaxy.
