Problems:

1.) Chiron hung at about 0415 CST while attempting to start a ThAr exposure. I tried to exit using the red EXIT button, but nothing happened. Similarly, using the shutdown_CHIRON command on the desktop did nothing. I tries this a few times. Finally, after about 30 minutes something timed out and CHIRON shut down. It restarted without apparent difficulties, except that the window that shows the realtime count rate and ables the exposure monitor did not come up. I looked around, but could not find it. In any event, the last 2 hours were uneventful, except for

2.) I hit a limit in trying to slew between legal position in the northeast to east. TCS does not seem to know enough to avoid limits when it decides where to go. It took some doing to confince it that it was nowhere near a limit. Lost about 10 minutes.

Comments:

Chiron is a wonderful instrument. Easy to use, too.
