Observation with Binoculars Workshop

As part of ongoing effort by the Cerro Tololo Observatory and AURA in Chile, for spreading science and astronomy among the members of our community and share all the wonders that give us our night sky, is that I have the pleasure to invite you to participate in the First Workshop Observing with Binoculars for Astronomy Tour Guides.

 

This activity is intended for Tour Guides Astronomical Observatories public and private in our region, wishing to supplement their knowledge of astronomical observations using binoculars, and expand or complement their professional contribution to the Observatories where they work.

 

The workshop will be held on Tuesday 26 June from 14:00 to 18:00 hrs. in the AURA Auditorium, located on the AURA facilities in Avenida and Calle Huanhualí tanks.

 

Participants will have the opportunity to witness an entertaining hands-on class on the best practices of using binoculars for astronomical observation and receive the gift of a binocular to use in their professional activities.

 

This free activity of astronomy outreach is part of the Education and Public Outreach Cerro Tololo Observatory, whose mission is to serve as a liaison between the Centre and the community for the promotion of astronomy and the preservation of the beautiful dark skies of our region.
