SITe have recently used a Robinson Nugent connector:
P25E-040-S-TG (40-way socket) fits a ribbon cable I think
P50E-040P1-S1-TG (plug)
I have used it briefly and it seems ok. I know they chose it because the
Nanonics one is so small and fragile to insert.
RN seem to be represented all over the world. I don't have a data sheet to hand.
