Hi Folks

I first of all want to thank all those who already responded (private and
through the list) and those who are still composing their messages. As
someone here said, we could all learn a lot from each other and save a
lot of money and efford in the process.

We have looked at every possible aspect of the dewars before and even
suspected plasticizers before. Remember my posting back in March 1997, see

http://www.cfht.hawaii.edu/~tmca/CCD-world/CCD-world.97.hypermail/0176.html

where I posted simple tests of identifying plastics as PVC's, Teflons, etc.

One other thing that I forgot to mention in my original mail, which became
quite obvious to us by now, is that you MUST NEVER use solvents from plastic
containers - even the bottle tops must be safe!

Best regards
Willie

ps. If I don't respond in the next two weeks or so, it might have
something to do with the South African summer holidays ;-)
