Dear CCD-world

You may recall that AstroCam Ltd, the Cambridge, UK based manufacturer
of scientific CCD systems for a wide range of applications,  merged with
two other companies to form Life Science Resources Ltd. in February
1997.   The announcement below is of the purchase of 100% of the LSR
stock by EG&G Wallac.

I am delighted to announce that on Friday 18th December negotiations
were concluded and a Sale and Purchase agreement was signed between Life
Science Resources and EG&G Wallac, a subsidiary of EG&G Inc. (Wellelsey,
MA). This means that Life Science Resources is now part of the EG&G
company and will be integrated into the Life Sciences division reporting
to EG&G Wallac.

In making the announcement I am able to report that David Dean has been
appointed General Manager of EG&G Wallac LSR with immediate effect.
Accordingly Dr Bill Henderson has moved on and will have no further
active role in the company with a great deal of thanks and appreciation
for his contribution to the recent development of the business.

Life Science Resources has been acquired by EG&G Wallac because of the
enabling technologies developed in Cambridge and the synergy that exists
between LSR technology and EG&G Wallac's business goals and objectives.

The change in ownership reflects significant progress in the development
of LSR, the company will now be able to take advantage of a strong
international sales and marketing operation for products and
technologies sold directly and through OEM and Strategic partners.

For the immediate future business communications will be handled as
before and all ongoing discussions will continue unchanged. With respect
to ongoing business we expect this announcement to positively impact on
