This is not directly relevant to CCDs, but the CO2 snow technique has
been used by NASA to clean UV optics. The results were very good!

Hello CCD World

I'd be interested to hear about the bad results from using a single-hair
brush. I had been led to believe it was a good idea.

I have dug out my old file of memos from Jim Janesick (I never throw
anything away !) and there was a note to Jim from Loren Acton at Lockheed.
This had results of an investigation into using C02 snow for the SXT
instrument. This was way back in June 1991. I don't know if anyone has
used the technique since. I can fax the memo if requested.

Best regards
