The following was posted to CCD-world:
For our new high speed photon counting camera I plan to use 2 HOTLink
from Cypress, both from camera to acquisition, to carry the pixels at
the rate of 2 x 27Mbyte/s.
I will buy a kit (bidirectionnal) from Cypress to test the link and the
circuits, then I will build a transmission board an a reception board,
each with 2 channels. The connectors of the opto modules can be SC or
ST.
The transmission will be synchronous with the pixel clock, and will be
directly interfaced to the digital output of the camera (no protocol).
The reception will be interfaced to an internal PCI bus of a multiDSP
board by a PCM mezzanine board, with FIFOs and a FPGA to manage the
control signals.
The kit will help me to test the performances of my links.
