Hi everyone,

Here is some news that might be a surprise to those of you that do not
follow the domestic UK commercial scene.

GEC (which owns EEV) divided itself up this year, and sold off many
companies to British Aerospace.  It retained EEV as a high-tech electronics
manufacturer, which was respectably profitable, and fitted in with the
business aims of the new group of companies (communications & electronics).
Another result of this reorganisation is that companies are now to be known
as 'Marconi plc'- which is considered to be an internationally recognised
'brand'.

So, in the future 'EEV CCDs' will be sold under the Marconi flag.  For those
of you who still recall the original 'GEC' CCDs, this will be yet another
undesired change.  Sorry, but it has happened with effect from today- we are
now known as-
     ' Marconi Applied Technologies'.

However, nothing changes internally and so the usual devices will be sold,
by the usual team of in-house experts.  In fact, we hope that investment in
our activity may reap more dividends in the near future.  If it was
otherwise, then I'd be posting my CV up here!
