Color picture of SN2000cj. This is a composite color picture formed from BVI images taken from the 0.9m telescope at CTIO with the facility CCD on 17 May 2000. The data were combined with PhotoShop. The supernova is the very blue object at the 8 o'clock position with respect to the galaxy. The colors have been stretched to accentuate the color range of the stars.

Optical spectrum. This was obtained at LCO 1m Swope telescope by A. Kundu on 20.3 May 2000. The supernova is at type Ia near or a few days before maximum light.
