This is a Type Ia supernova that was discovered by R. Chassagne, Ste. Clotilde, Ile de Reunion in July 2001.
Finding chart for SN2001cz. This is a 30s V exposure of NGC 4679 taken with the CTIO 0.9m telescope and facility imager by José Arenas. The SN is marked. There is one star near the SN which can be used as local standards. The telescope should be pointed between the supernova and Star 1.
